Fab News: What’s New and Happening at The Cubicle Chick

Hi there! There’s been so many things happening with TheCubicleChick.com and my brand that I wanted to take some time and fill you in on all of the news.

TheCubicleChick.com continues to grow and evolve, and it’s because of my readers that I’ve been able to do the things I am doing. I never wanted to be just a blogger; I wanted to be a conduit for others to help them grow in whatever it is they wanted to be. I’ve been working on my second book, SHINE: 30 Days of Positive Life Affirmations, and will be releasing it soon. By far, this is the largest project I’ve worked on, and I really hope it’s received well.

Here’s more of what’s been going on in my Cube:

I’m A Panelist at The Niche Mommy Conference!

I’m A Panelist at The Niche Mommy Conference!

I’ve been sitting on a bit of news! Last week, I was selected to be on a special panel at The Niche Mommy Conference currently taking place in New Orleans. The panel is called Moms Matter in 2012: Discussing the 2012 Election. As someone who does discuss politics from time to time on my social networks (and as a fangirl of Michelle Obama, which has been showcased many times on my blog), I felt that I had a lot of lend in this area.

I will be a panelist with several other moms, some who discuss politics on their websites and others who shy away from it. The goal of our session is to bring attention to the next election and the importance of our voices as a collective unit expressing our needs, no matter what political side we happen to be on. The session is being moderated by Lindsay Ferrier and Cafe Mom, which will be recording video of the session for their website.

Political affiliation and the presidential election can be sticky topic to discuss on any platform, and I know a lot of my colleagues don’t like to blog about the current political climate. This will be a dynamic and interesting session discussing all sides, and I feel very proud be a part of it.

The panel will take place on Saturday, and I am hoping I will be able to bring you pictures and tid-bits from the discussion, and furnish you with a link to the video when it is live!

I’m Headed to The Big Easy for The Niche Mommy Conference

I’m Headed to The Big Easy for The Niche Mommy Conference

Can you believe that I have never been to New Orleans?

Well, that is about to change, because I am heading to NOLA for The Niche Mommy Conference, taking place at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel near the French Quarter. This is the inaugural conference event for Niche Mommy, and I am very excited to be attending.

As you may be able to tell, I am an avid fan of attending conferences. There is so much to learn, I feel like I want to be front and center. And while I can’t attend each and every conference I want to, it sure feels good to be able to attend the ones that I really feel are special and will help me propel my brand.

I am so looking forward to the networking that will take place, as well as the plenty o’ talking points and takeaways that are sure to take place.

If you’d like to follow my experience while in New Orleans for The Niche Mommy Conference, make sure to follow me on Twitter and on my Facebook page.

NOLA, here I come, baby! I hope you’re ready!

My 5 Most Fabulous BlogHer ’12 Moments

My 5 Most Fabulous BlogHer ’12 Moments

This year’s BlogHer conference in New York City was nothing short of amazing. I had the most awesome time learning, partying, bonding, sharing, and even debating with some of my friends, fellow bloggers, and counterparts. I attend a lot of conferences, but there is nothing like BlogHer. I am most excited about putting all the ideas and knowledge I learned at the conference to use on my own blog and projects.

And while I know everyone and their mother is posting their BlogHer recaps, I thought I would share with you my 5 Most Fabulous BlogHer ’12 Moments. These are priceless items that I will remember for years and years to come.

Without further adieu…

I’m Heading to BlogHer ’12: A Girl Can’t Have Too Many Shoes

I’m Heading to BlogHer ’12: A Girl Can’t Have Too Many Shoes

In less than 24 hours, I will be heading to BlogHer ’12 in New York City. This will be my second year attending the conference, which is like the Mack Daddy of blogging events. It’s huge! With other 4,000 attendees, BlogHer is the biggest conference I have attended up to this point; but it’s also a do-not-miss event because it offers so much in terms of networking, learning, and taking your blog to the next level.

Last year, I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but this year, I feel uber prepared. I have kept my schedule light because I refuse to me stressed out! :-)

As a blogger and entrepreneur, it’s important to invest in yourself. These types of conferences are well worth the investment for me because I get to learn from those who are very knowledgeable as well as network and connect with brands, other bloggers, and companies that I’d like to work with.

If you are a blogger, if you don’t go to any other conference, I say you should go to BlogHer. And don’t let the name fool you. Yes, it’s organized by women but male bloggers also attend.

If you care to follow my exploits (and my shoe game) in the Big Apple at BlogHer, you can do so by following me on Twitter and on my Facebook page.
