Fab News: What’s New and Happening at The Cubicle Chick

Hi there! There’s been so many things happening with TheCubicleChick.com and my brand that I wanted to take some time and fill you in on all of the news.

TheCubicleChick.com continues to grow and evolve, and it’s because of my readers that I’ve been able to do the things I am doing. I never wanted to be just a blogger; I wanted to be a conduit for others to help them grow in whatever it is they wanted to be. I’ve been working on my second book, SHINE: 30 Days of Positive Life Affirmations, and will be releasing it soon. By far, this is the largest project I’ve worked on, and I really hope it’s received well.

Here’s more of what’s been going on in my Cube:

The Cubicle Chick Google + Hangout: Any Suggestions?

The Cubicle Chick Google + Hangout: Any Suggestions?

In my quest for world dominance and a more thorough presence on all new media platforms, I have been stepping up my game in the form of video. I also see Google+ being used widely as a way to communicate authentically with readers and discuss issues and topics that they want to know more about. I would like to begin using Google + Hangouts at least once a month as yet another way to share with my readers and followers.

So I have a few questions for you. In terms of topics, what would you like to see me discuss during a Google + Hangout? What days and/or times work for you? Are weekends better than weekdays?

In addition, would you like to see my Google + Hangout recorded and for airplay on my YouTube channel? Would this be something you would watch?

Let me know your thoughts.  Please reply in the comments and sound off :-)

I Am a Panelist: St. Louis Social Media Club Blogging Panel 9/24

I Am a Panelist: St. Louis Social Media Club Blogging Panel 9/24

I am very excited to announce my latest appearance as a panelist for St. Louis Social Media Club’s (SMCSTL) September event and happy hour. Entitled ‘Blogging Panel’, it will feature myself and three other professionals who blog, either under their own entity, or for a company or business. I am elated about this because St. Louis Social Media Club is spotlighting a very important and crucial part of social media which is blogging, something that I am very passionate about.

The event will take place on Monday, September 24th from 6 to 8pm at Milagro Modern Mexican in Webster Groves. The event is free but you have to RSVP to the event (currently the event is on waitlist, but there may be additional tickets being released prior to the date).

I would really love if you are in the St. Louis area to join me, the other panelists, and St. Louis Social Media Club.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

I’m Turning 37: Feeling Some Kind of Way

I’m Turning 37: Feeling Some Kind of Way

In just a couple of days, I turn 37. Labor Day marks the day in which my mom and dad brought me into the world. There are times when I feel that I am just getting started, and there are other times when I feel that I lived and seen so much. When I was younger, I was afraid of getting old. Afraid of getting gray hair. Afraid of wrinkles. And while I don’t have any wrinkles or gray hair (well, just a strand or two), growing older gracefully has become appealing to me. I am no longer afraid, but rather grateful for being the gift of seeing another day each morning when I open my eyes.

I am much closer to 40 now than I am to 30. That does bother me a bit, I guess, because I never felt like a grown up. I keep wondering when that “grown up gene” will click on, but alas, I still sometimes feel like I am riding a bike with training wheels. I continue to make mistakes, but I also make sure to learn from them and not continue to repeat them.

There’s No Party Like a NOLA Party: Niche Mommy Conference 2012

There’s No Party Like a NOLA Party: Niche Mommy Conference 2012

Last weekend was spent in the wonderful city that is New Orleans at The Niche Mommy Conference. As I blogged before, I was invited to attend the first year of Niche Mommy as an attendee and a panelist. It was a great mix of bloggers who wanted to network, learn, and share their blogging experiences. Taking our blogs to the next level by making it our primary business is something that most of us attending aspire to do, and there were plenty of experts on hand to share their knowledge and guidance.

I went to the conference a day early to get a feel for New Orleans, since this was my first visit. On Thursday, I soaked up time in the Guerlain Spa located in The Roosevelt Hotel New Orleans, and then met up with other attendees at a pre-conference reception. Afterwards, we headed to the French Quarter and kicked it with the Collective Bias Crew (actually, make that two nights!).

The two and a half day conference was wonderful and was well put together. I love a conference that is located in a great venue and that runs smoothly.

Below are a few pictures of my escapades and adventures in New Orleans. I would recommend Niche Mommy Conference to anyone who wants to learn more about how to make their blog and social media presence and influence a full-time career.
