Get Help Taking Care of You With My Self Care Plan

May 18, 2018 by Danyelle Little

Taking care of yourself should be a priority, and my self care plan can help you make sure it gets done.

On this website and my blogs, I talk a lot about business and entrepreneurial topics, as they are near and dear to my heart. I love to share what has helped me be a success, as I want everyone to be able to live their best lives. Doing so also means taking care of the personal as well as the professional, and self care is a huge part of my overall systems and procedures.

A lot of us talk about the importance of taking care of oneself and nurturing ourselves, but how many of us actually do this on the regular? And I am not just talking about spa dates, massages, and pampering. I am talking about unplugging, journaling, spending time alone, being still—things of that nature.

Just like everything else in our lives, we must prioritize and schedule what is importance to us. In order to make self care a priority, you need to plan doing so on a regular basis. I created a Free Self Care Plan so that you can visually map out your self care goals for each week.

Welp. 2016, It’s Been Real.

December 19, 2016 by Danyelle Little

During these last few weeks of 2016, I’ve been recapping, reviewing, and rewinding. Before we can plan to chart new progress and new goals for the upcoming year, we have to be retrospective. For me, 2016 was a watershed year. Relentless in the good and the bad, a reminder of what is at stake, and a contender for one of the most “interesting” years personally. Business-wise, things were okay. I continued strong monetary streams, created new products and services, launched a growing podcast, and started a new media imprint (which you will hear about soon). I feel like I accomplished some goals, but didn’t go as hard in the paint as I could’ve.

It was hard to concentrate.

The Art of the Hustle.

March 30, 2016 by Danyelle Little

The Cubicle Chick STLWhat you are most consistent with (and not) tells a lot about the person that you are, and the results that you get.

I’ve gone on record many times by saying I am an accidental entrepreneur. I was thrust into running my own business after I lost my steady paycheck due to budget cuts at my old job. After trying for months to become re-employed during the recession, I threw my hands in the air and began to focus on my “little blog that could”. Would I be able to make this hobby a jobby and turn my misfortunes around?

Fast forward to 2016 and I think we have the answer.

But no matter how “successful” I am or how much money I make, the hustle is always on my mind.

  • How can I create more streams of income?
  • How I can redefine and clarify my message so that it resonates with others?
  • How can I better serve my audience and readership?
  • How can I be a steward to help pay it forward?
  • How can I accomplish every goal that I set out to crush?

I get asked all of the time about how I do what I do and make money. I give the answers and very clear cut and concise directions, steps, and procedures to friends, colleagues, and paid consults. But if the hustle mentality isn’t on overdrive, the results may not be what mine have been.

(Learn why you aren’t making money with your business after the break)

My Word for 2016: Expansion

January 1, 2016 by Danyelle Little

Danyelle-LittleSince moving forward as a displaced career woman turned Mompreneur and Digital Debutante, I have selected a word of vision as I move into a new year. For 2016, the stakes are higher, and so are my goals. Because of this journey and the steps taken to get here, I am living a life I never knew I could. But not one for complacency or comfortability, I want to up the ante once and again and challenge myself to embark on new soil. So after a lot of thought and careful self-reflecting, I’ve chosen expansion as my word for 2016.

Why expansion?

Merriam Webster defines expansion as the act of becoming bigger or making something bigger. I want to super size my ambition, and in doing that, create more opportunities that I can spread my wings creatively and professionally. I want to add more titles to my name. I want to truly gamble on something that could be a game changer. But most of all, I want to help other working parents thrive, grow, and succeed.

So what does expansion look like to me, you may ask.

Here are a few examples of just some of the plans I have for the upcoming year (I am listing these not out of ego, but for accountability):

Cut My Mic Off Please.

November 16, 2015 by Danyelle Little

The Cubicle Chick Hawaii Ko'Lina

I’ve come to realize that now that I am 40, even though I am a huge people person with a strong and vibrant outgoing personality, I am very much a loner.

I enjoy truly spending time by myself (I think it’s the only child in me). Some people think this is because I am standoffish or stuck up, self-centered, or just insensitive, but I like my space. I like having time to myself.  I spend so much time “on” with my blog and online business endeavors, that when I get an opportunity to unplug for real, it’s cut my mic off please time.

We’ve got to remember this as we go about our daily lives running our empires. In our quest to be the hottest thing on the web, we can forget that it’s okay to go somewhere and be quiet for awhile. Everyone will be there when you get back, and you will have a chance to make much needed logged-off moments. If someone really needs you, they will reach out to you. And if you miss something, you can totally catch up when you log back in.
