43 & Me: A Year Older and a Bolder Year Ahead

September 7, 2018 by Danyelle Little

I'm officially 43 now and there's been some big changes in my life. Get caught up on on the latest developments and read about my plan for the nexy year.

I am officially 43 years young!

I’ve had a lot of changes in my life as of late, and it all culminated in me turning 43 and being blessed to reach another important milestone. I am on a quest to live my best life spiritually, emotionally, physically, professionally, and mentally—which means revamping and rethinking a few ways that I do things.

I’m now back in the cubicle, so to speak.

Last month, I accepted a position as the Director of Social Media and Digital Marketing at KTRS. It is a 20+ year old locally owned talk radio station, and is the voice of St. Louis, and I am honored to help establish and help grow their social media department.

I have been self-employed for over eight years, and haven’t been an employee during that entire time. Going back into the workplace and working with a team on a consistent basis is something that I’ve been out of practice with, but the position is allowing me to grow my skill-set and capabilities in the social media space, while giving me access to another platform—radio. I am excited about this new chapter and look forward to what this new role will bring.

I'm officially 43 now and there's been some big changes in my life. Get caught up on on the latest developments and read about my plan for the nexy year.

In addition to that, I have a consultant contract with a large church here in the area to help them grow their social media channels and efforts, and I also will still be running The Cubicle Chick, LLC and all of my other endeavors.

The grind does not stop!

During the next year, I hope to move in bolder steps and brushstrokes while continuing to empire build and finish products that have been on the back-burner for way too long.

Here’s what you can expect from me:

Six Ways to Live Your Life Like a Boss

July 27, 2018 by Danyelle Little

Being a true Boss isn't about a title, but how you conduct yourself and how you treat others. I'm sharing Six Ways to Live Your Life Like a Boss.

Most of us like to think that we are a BOSS, but fewer of us have the traits that are needed to be one. Being a boss is a coveted role in this society—and I’m not talking about the title given to one who is selected to manage a group of people in a work setting. I am talking about the characteristics of a person who runs things, who is looked up to, who handles themselves with honor and distinction, and who makes moves on the regular that help them achieve their goals consistently.

A Real Boss.

Yes, a true Boss is one who takes the bull by its horns each and every day without letting people see them sweat. Being bossed up isn’t about how much money you have or the type of car you drive, or how powerful you are. It is the feeling that you leave with people—one of excellence and professionalism. Yes, those are a few traits real bosses possess. And as I type this, I am assuming that if you are reading this yourself, then you are either a Boss or have the capability of being one. Because of that, you aren’t willing to settle for being status quo or regular—exceeding expectations is your credo.

I’ve devised a list of Six Ways to Live Your Life Like a Boss. And if you’re down for the cause, let’s get to work.

Bosses are resilient

If you are living a true Boss Lifestyle, then you have overcome an obstacle or ten. A boss earns their stripes by first failing, and then trying again over and over to get it right. You learn from your mistakes in order to perfect your technique, which makes you wise and someone that people look to for guidance. You’ve been through a lot, but you don’t allow your past and your story to define your future. Bosses know how to dust themselves off and try again, and you appreciate the win because you’ve had your share of losses.

Bosses don’t pass the buck

A true boss owns up to their mistakes and doesn’t give excuses or pass the buck to others. They admit when they’ve messed up, and don’t mind showing some vulnerability. A real Boss is human, and doesn’t strive to be something that they are not.

Halfway Through 2018: 6 Tips to Help You Finish the Year Strong

June 29, 2018 by Danyelle Little

We are at the halfway mark for 2018. I've got some tips to help you finish the year strong, things that you can implement now so you conquer your goals.

Six months behind us—six months more to go.

You started 2018 strong and bold. You made a list of goals. You strategized. You planned. Things were going well and you were starting to make some headway. And then, as the year started moving into March and April and then May, you fell off. It’s easy to do, as creating habits and a consistent plan for your goals is hard for most to achieve. And now that we are about halfway through 2018, you aren’t where you want to be.

But the good thing about all of this is that you have the opportunity to shift and pivot and self correct. And you still have six months to finish the year on a good note and with your goals and achievements mission accomplished. I am sharing six tips to help you finish the year strong, and they are tips that I am also following to make sure that 2018 is the best year yet.

#1 Follow your own plan, not someone else’s

It can be easy to get caught up in what other people are doing. But while they are moving closer to their purpose, you remain stagnant. Here’s the deal: you can’t follow someone else’s blueprint, you have to create your own. The recipes to your secret sauce are authentic to you, your experiences, and your offerings. So go forward knowledgeable about trends and what’s going on in the space around you, but don’t copy it. You are a unique and talented individual who should be sharing your gifts with the world. Don’t look to others to chart your course—look to yourself.

1st Quarter Check Up: How I’m Doing on my Goals

March 17, 2016 by Danyelle Little

The-Cubicle-ChickOn January 1st, I took to the task of writing my goals for the upcoming year and shared them on my website. Doing so was a way for me to stay accountable to my goals—for putting them out there on my platform would be one way of making sure that I stayed on track. Now that we are almost three full months into the year, I wanted to be totally transparent and let you guys know how I’ve been doing thus far.

Personally I can say that there have been a few challenges this year. Nothing that isn’t insurmountable, but definitely not expected or planned. I can tell you that over the years, I’ve relied on my ability to be resilient and pivot when needed, and these challenges called for that. Even as a Work Life Management advocate, I too, have problems with sticking to boundaries that are super important in relationships, both professionally and personally—let’s just say in this area, I am still a work in progress.

Now, as far as my goals, I am attacking them with fortitude and vigor. To recap what I shared on 1/1/16, I am copying and pasting the goals that I listed below:

  • Hangouts and chats focused on working parent topics and entrepreneurial subjects
  • An e-Course
  • Two in-person conference and/or workshop events (one in my city and one in another location)
  • Two books (yes, two FULL books)
  • A skillfully produced video series
  • More branded products/eStore
  • At least 3 high-profile speaking engagements
  • At least 3 high-profile TV appearances on major networks
  • Podcast (yes, I want to return back to podcasting in 2016)

So far during the first quarter, I’ve done the following: (read the rest after the break)

Why You Should Utilize Work Life Management for Success {Video}

August 19, 2015 by Danyelle Little

Danyelle Little vlog

Work Life Management is the act of managing both your personal & the professional life in a positive fashion. It is a useful tool that helps you soar while keeping you full, yet less stressed. We may not have the ability to have it all, but we can work towards ultimate fulfillment which can create a healthy lifestyle for not only ourselves, but our families as well. I began as a Work Life Balance proponent, but found that the word ‘balance’ constitutes something that may never be achieved by most humans. But management and the active use of creating systems and boundaries for our lives is something we can all not only achieve, but be successful at as well.
