Be a Problem Solver

June 8, 2016 by Danyelle Little

Be a Problem Solver.

For years, I struggled with finding my true voice as it relates to my personal brand. I’ve always managed to stay on message as a Work Life Management expert and working parent advocate, but it wasn’t until I understood being valuable to my readers that I began to harness my full potential. To create a movement that resonates, you must serve. And to do that, you must be a problem solver.

When you solve problems effectively, efficiently, and consistently, you will be able to monetize your message and your voice.

Think about yourself, personally. You probably pay for goods and services that solve problems and help make your life easier. If you don’t have a lot of time to clean your home, you hire a housekeeper. If you need a ride to the airport and don’t want to pay for long term parking, you book an Uber. If your child needs help with math and your skills aren’t up to par, you pay for a tutor. You do so because they help you solve a problem which can make your life less stressful.

Stay Ready.

April 12, 2016 by Danyelle Little

The Cubicle ChickIt’s been a minute since I’ve been a social entrepreneur, and I’ve learned a few things during this part of my journey. I was reminded about one of the many lessons I’ve learned along the way during a recent conference that I attended. In addition to being an attendee of the conference, I was selected to also be a social influencer for a huge financial brand sharing tweets and info about the event while I was there. This was a paid position that allowed me to be the face of the brand while bringing their message from the conference to my followers, and I was excited about the partnership.

On the first day of the event, I was asked to do an on-camera interview and meet with the woman who was overseeing the brand activation. I had no idea that this was going to be a part of the program, and for a small second, I was second-guessing myself.

I didn’t know how to feel about this. I was fresh off the plane having just arrived at the event, and it was beginning to rain at the outside venue. I was a little jet-lagged and not quite ready for primetime. And yet, it would be unprofessional to say no, or to ask to do it at another time.

I had to do what I had to do.

So what happened? Read the rest after the jump.

The Art of the Hustle.

March 30, 2016 by Danyelle Little

The Cubicle Chick STLWhat you are most consistent with (and not) tells a lot about the person that you are, and the results that you get.

I’ve gone on record many times by saying I am an accidental entrepreneur. I was thrust into running my own business after I lost my steady paycheck due to budget cuts at my old job. After trying for months to become re-employed during the recession, I threw my hands in the air and began to focus on my “little blog that could”. Would I be able to make this hobby a jobby and turn my misfortunes around?

Fast forward to 2016 and I think we have the answer.

But no matter how “successful” I am or how much money I make, the hustle is always on my mind.

  • How can I create more streams of income?
  • How I can redefine and clarify my message so that it resonates with others?
  • How can I better serve my audience and readership?
  • How can I be a steward to help pay it forward?
  • How can I accomplish every goal that I set out to crush?

I get asked all of the time about how I do what I do and make money. I give the answers and very clear cut and concise directions, steps, and procedures to friends, colleagues, and paid consults. But if the hustle mentality isn’t on overdrive, the results may not be what mine have been.

(Learn why you aren’t making money with your business after the break)

My Word for 2016: Expansion

January 1, 2016 by Danyelle Little

Danyelle-LittleSince moving forward as a displaced career woman turned Mompreneur and Digital Debutante, I have selected a word of vision as I move into a new year. For 2016, the stakes are higher, and so are my goals. Because of this journey and the steps taken to get here, I am living a life I never knew I could. But not one for complacency or comfortability, I want to up the ante once and again and challenge myself to embark on new soil. So after a lot of thought and careful self-reflecting, I’ve chosen expansion as my word for 2016.

Why expansion?

Merriam Webster defines expansion as the act of becoming bigger or making something bigger. I want to super size my ambition, and in doing that, create more opportunities that I can spread my wings creatively and professionally. I want to add more titles to my name. I want to truly gamble on something that could be a game changer. But most of all, I want to help other working parents thrive, grow, and succeed.

So what does expansion look like to me, you may ask.

Here are a few examples of just some of the plans I have for the upcoming year (I am listing these not out of ego, but for accountability):

What’s Your Price?

August 13, 2015 by Danyelle Little

What's Your Price

When helping people with their personal brands and creating a digital movement, I often ask my clients to begin with their PRICE.

It is a tool that you can use to truly delve into how you want to do business, who you want to attract, as well as who or what you can lend value to. PRICE doesn’t have so much to with the actual charging of services that you will be conducting, but more about the overall foundation of how you will do business.

Let’s delve into it a little more.
