Red Carpet Premiere of St. Louis Children’s Hospital Frontline for Hope

March 13, 2013 by Danyelle Little

Yesterday evening, I was invited to attend the red carpet VIP screening for St. Louis Children’s Hospital docu-series Frontline for Hope. The series, which is filmed and produced locally here in St. Louis, follows several doctors at Children’s Hospital as well as their patients and families.

St. Louis Children’s Hospital is world-renown for their care in treating high risk children of all ages. Families from all over the world come to Children’s to get top-notch treatment, and the doctors, nurses, and care staff are the best in the industry. Frontline for Hope follows these little patients as they are treated at Children’s, and we get to learn about their families as well as the doctors and nurses who take care of them.

St. Louis has become a hotbed of reality television series. Starting off with Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s which is also locally filmed and produced (by Coolfire Media, the same production company that produced this series), and Nick Mom, Frontline for Hope will be broadcast on NBC local affiliate Channel 5 KSDK on Saturday evenings at 6:30 pm. Six episodes will air, the first being this Saturday, and there is even talk of the show possibly getting a nationwide broadcast.

Attendees at the screening got a chance to watch the first Frontline for Hope episode, which spotlighted little Madeline who was born with CPH, and fifteen year old Jessie, a diehard Mizzou fan, who had to have his colon removed through a risky surgery. There were moments when you laughed and cried, sometimes within minutes of each other. Seeing the miracles done at Children’s really fires up those emotions.

KSDK News 5 anchor Kay Quinn served at the night’s host and emcee, and did a fabulous job giving us information about the program before the screening and moderated a Q&A afterwards with several Frontline for Hope parents, doctors, and producers.

I hope that you will check out Frontline for Hope for yourself if you are in the St. Louis area, and show some love to this amazing medical center that is located right in our very own backyard.

Below (and after the break) are a few photos of the Frontline for Hope VIP red carpet event which took place at Chaminade Preparatory Skip Viragh Center for the Arts in the Frontenac area.

I Am a Panelist: St. Louis Social Media Club Blogging Panel 9/24

September 17, 2012 by Danyelle Little

I am very excited to announce my latest appearance as a panelist for St. Louis Social Media Club’s (SMCSTL) September event and happy hour. Entitled ‘Blogging Panel’, it will feature myself and three other professionals who blog, either under their own entity, or for a company or business. I am elated about this because St. Louis Social Media Club is spotlighting a very important and crucial part of social media which is blogging, something that I am very passionate about.

The event will take place on Monday, September 24th from 6 to 8pm at Milagro Modern Mexican in Webster Groves. The event is free but you have to RSVP to the event (currently the event is on waitlist, but there may be additional tickets being released prior to the date).

I would really love if you are in the St. Louis area to join me, the other panelists, and St. Louis Social Media Club.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

There’s No Party Like a NOLA Party: Niche Mommy Conference 2012

August 28, 2012 by Danyelle Little

Last weekend was spent in the wonderful city that is New Orleans at The Niche Mommy Conference. As I blogged before, I was invited to attend the first year of Niche Mommy as an attendee and a panelist. It was a great mix of bloggers who wanted to network, learn, and share their blogging experiences. Taking our blogs to the next level by making it our primary business is something that most of us attending aspire to do, and there were plenty of experts on hand to share their knowledge and guidance.

I went to the conference a day early to get a feel for New Orleans, since this was my first visit. On Thursday, I soaked up time in the Guerlain Spa located in The Roosevelt Hotel New Orleans, and then met up with other attendees at a pre-conference reception. Afterwards, we headed to the French Quarter and kicked it with the Collective Bias Crew (actually, make that two nights!).

The two and a half day conference was wonderful and was well put together. I love a conference that is located in a great venue and that runs smoothly.

Below are a few pictures of my escapades and adventures in New Orleans. I would recommend Niche Mommy Conference to anyone who wants to learn more about how to make their blog and social media presence and influence a full-time career.

I’m A Panelist at The Niche Mommy Conference!

August 24, 2012 by Danyelle Little

I’ve been sitting on a bit of news! Last week, I was selected to be on a special panel at The Niche Mommy Conference currently taking place in New Orleans. The panel is called Moms Matter in 2012: Discussing the 2012 Election. As someone who does discuss politics from time to time on my social networks (and as a fangirl of Michelle Obama, which has been showcased many times on my blog), I felt that I had a lot of lend in this area.

I will be a panelist with several other moms, some who discuss politics on their websites and others who shy away from it. The goal of our session is to bring attention to the next election and the importance of our voices as a collective unit expressing our needs, no matter what political side we happen to be on. The session is being moderated by Lindsay Ferrier and Cafe Mom, which will be recording video of the session for their website.

Political affiliation and the presidential election can be sticky topic to discuss on any platform, and I know a lot of my colleagues don’t like to blog about the current political climate. This will be a dynamic and interesting session discussing all sides, and I feel very proud be a part of it.

The panel will take place on Saturday, and I am hoping I will be able to bring you pictures and tid-bits from the discussion, and furnish you with a link to the video when it is live!

This year’s BlogHer conference in New York City was nothing short of amazing. I had the most awesome time learning, partying, bonding, sharing, and even debating with some of my friends, fellow bloggers, and counterparts. I attend a lot of conferences, but there is nothing like BlogHer. I am most excited about putting all the ideas and knowledge I learned at the conference to use on my own blog and projects.

And while I know everyone and their mother is posting their BlogHer recaps, I thought I would share with you my 5 Most Fabulous BlogHer ’12 Moments. These are priceless items that I will remember for years and years to come.
